God Raises Up Judges to Deliver His People From Tyranny
God’s Word says that a curse is upon the lands where innocent blood is shed and is not avenged properly. God's Word also says that tyranny is one of the punishments for national sins. Tyrannical rulers are one manifestation of the curse God pronounces upon nations who have turned their back on Him and His ways. Very often in the Bible, when Israel is under tyrannical rule for her sins, it was a single man (or woman) a "Judge" (hence the book's title, Judges) that rose up and did justice among the people. When the people judged themselves and did right in the sight of the Lord, then God granted them deliverance from tyranny. This Judge was not democratically elected, he was not of the lineage of a monarch - indeed, Gideon was from a poor family from the least tribe and “I am the least in my father’s house”. God can use anybody to judge in His behalf. But "judgment must begin at the house of God" (I Peter 4:17).
The only hope for justice for the preborn in America is that the church
repents. Jesus said that we are the salt of the earth – designed
to preserve God’s righteous standard in society. Yet we cannot even
keep ourselves from rotting, much less the world! Over half of those
who have abortions admit to being from protestant evangelical churches!
The church must put out the impenitent sinners from among them and do justice
within her walls (I Corinthians 5; Matthew 18:15-18). Otherwise,
we are doomed to tyranny and injustice in society. But “If my people
who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray, and seek My
face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, forgive
their sin, and heal their land” (II Chronicles 7:14).
God Will Avenge the Innocent Blood If We Do Not
At the present day, our rulers are not fulfilling their God-ordained obligation to thrust the sword of justice into evildoers, and the citizenry, the constituents, the voters, the Christian church at large, even the pro-life activists are passively inept. I am convinced that if the official pro-life movement in America took the reins of our government tomorrow, the guilt of innocent bloodshed would not be abated – murderers would still be allowed to live and God would continue to be polluted by the injustice. The United States has the bloodguilt of 45 million innocents on its hands, and as a result we are under a curse and we deserve it. We must not mistake His longsuffering for complacency, America. He has blessed our countries, but all national blessings are conditional. He promises to turn into hell all nations that forget God!
Jeremiah 18
7 At what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning
a kingdom, to pluck up, and to pull down, and to destroy it;
8 If that nation against whom I have pronounced turn from their evil,
I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them.
9 And at what instant I shall speak concerning a nation and concerning
a kingdom, to build and to plant it;
10 If it do evil in My sight, that it obey not My voice, then I will
repent of the good, wherewith I said I would benefit them.
Don’t take His blessings for granted, America. Your Christian heritage has passed down to you unsurpassed prosperity and blessing, but God could very quickly repent of the good that He intended to do unto you, and destroy you in His wrath instead! Tragic famine, economic depression, terrifying pestilence, massive earthquakes, devastating storms, bitter defeat in battle – all this could be yours very soon unless you repent! The bushel covers the light of God's Word and the salt has lost its savor (Matthew 5:13-16) - the church will have no reason to complain when the gavel falls and she is scattered by the boot-heels of the wicked.
“Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction. Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.” Proverbs 31:8-9
"If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain; If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not: doth not He that pondereth the heart consider it? and He that keepeth thy soul, doth not He know it? and shall not He render to every man according to his work?" Proverbs 24:11-12
