John Brockhoeft

John Brockhoeft, a defender of the unborn, has completed serving
several years in prison for
closing down abortuaries by means of fire. While he was incarcerated,
he wrote what has become known as The Brockhoeft Report.
The Brockhoeft Report
was originally in newsletter format and edited by Shelley Shannon
until her subsequent
arrest and conviction for shooting late term abortionist George
Tiller. After Shelley's
trial the Brockhoeft Report was published in the Prayer & Action
News, edited
by Dave and Dorothy Leach. John Brockhoeft is a signer
of Paul Hill's Defensive Action
statement. He was released from prison under severe restrictions
placed on his personal liberties.
John Brockhoeft was enjoined from any communication with prolifers,
even to contact with any
prolife attorney! The court imposed restriction on his fraternitizastion
with prolife advocates
was so strong that Brockhoeft was concerned
he would not be allowed to: attend a church
containing prolifers; receive medical attention from a prolife doctor;
or even to marry
his prolife fiancee.
The parole board responded to his concerns with the assurance that
these scenarios were exaggerated,
however, the restrictions were in effect for three years.
In February, 1998 A.D. Johnny Brockhoeft was
again allowed to participate in lawful anti-abortion activities.
In January 1999 A.D., he was honored at
the Fourth Annual White Rose Banquet, held in Washington D.C.
" There is a paradox in John Brockhoeft. He has the peaceful countenance
of a Francis
of Assisi statue feeding the birds, and a shy look when receiving complimentary
remarks;
he is a doting father to his lovely children and a tender husband to his
New Zealand
pen pal (now wife), Joanne. He defies the government's profile of a heartless
urban
terrorist. But when John speaks, the words emerge from deep within him
as the upwelling
of magma in a volcano. We need no further explanation after he quotes Jeremiah
6:11,
"I am full of the fury of Yahweh and I am weary of holding it in!"
and when he tells us, "I'm furious
about the mutilation and torture murder of babies."
