The Old Testament tells us of Israel’s rebellion leading to bondage, and of God’s deliverance. Though Israel is unfaithful, God raises up Israel’s deliverers using the weakest of people and weapons: Ehud delivered Israel with a dagger, Shamgar slays 600 Philistines with an ox-goad, Sampson kills 1000 men with the jawbone of a donkey, Goliath was felled with a slingshot, and Abimelech was mortally wounded by a woman with a millstone (Judges 9:50-56)

Israel had fallen into such deep moral depravity that a woman was judging them! God called fearful Barak to fight Israel’s enemies. But Barak would not lead Israel into battle unless Debby went along with him!

Deborah’s Song describes how God delivered Sisera’s army into Israel’s hand. Deborah chides Ruben, Dan, and Asher for not being in the fight. Deborah’s singing crescendos at the ode of blessed Jael, who with a tent peg and a hammer, nails to the ground Sisera’s sleeping bumpkin head. And all God’s people shout GLORY!

From George Tiller pro-lifers cry out to God for deliverance. God sends them deliverance and they frown. Like Ruben “There was great searching of heart” Like Dan “they lingered.” (Judges 5:16--17) Like Asher, they stay at home; they wouldn’t hold a sign. “Wine and cheese” pro-lifers boast about how uninvolved and harmless they are. You cannot depend on them in a fight to give or take a lick. The death camp workers snicker at them. Their token prayers and empty talk come to nothing. Most of them don’t even vote correctly!

They look to a mother of Israel (Sarah Palin) for deliverance, but they do not desire FULL DELIVERANCE, but only seek to make child sacrifice somewhat inconvenient. They ask for light restrictions such as informed consent, parental consent, and 24 hour waiting periods. They want the Canaanites to outlaw “partial birth abortion” one of many practices of child sacrifice. They are not so radical as to demand a total ban on baby killing; the Canaanites would put up a fight!

God sent Paul Hill, Shelly Shannon, James Kopp, and lately Scott Roeder to deliver the babies. Double-hearted pro-lifers complain. They find little consolation in the permanent closure of Tiller’s death camp. They want the glory of shutting down Tiller for themselves! They seem more concerned about how Tiller’s death reflects on them than how it benefits the babies.

I am at quits with pro-lifers who sing the blues whenever a baby killer meets a violent end. When an abortionist is shot or hung, he dies of natural causes. Those who condemn the shooter stand with those who deny the humanity and worth of the babies. A simple comparison reveals this.

Should we condemn those who use deadly force to defend a classroom of children from a paid assassin? Even if the parents of these children, and the school and the government officials cooperated in permitting it, should we not take the side of the children and their defenders?

If the pre-born ARE NOT fully human, they are not entitled to the SAME rights, privileges, and protection as post-born children. If the pre-born ARE NOT fully human, than a mother DOES have a right to “terminate her pregnancy.” We would be wrong in interfering with her right to choose an abortion!

Dogs beget dogs, cats beget cats, and humans beget ? The pre-born are fully human by virtue of their parents! They are human beings going through various stages of human development. And so it is with all of us. We are fully human from fertilization unto death.

It is hypocritical to maintain that abortion is murder, deserving of equal protection under the law, while we condemning those who defend them.

It is not complicated; we need not be a doctor, a lawyer, a judge, or a politician to understand this; all we need is a 3 pound brain and a little bit of common sense, and a little compassion. Apathy and indifference kill babies as surely as the abortionist’s bloody hands.

Does that mean that we are obliged to shoot an abortionist? No! The Bible gives us many instructions in righteousness which we do not fully meet. Who has loved God with their whole heart, their whole mind, their whole soul? Who has loved their neighbor as themselves? Some do better than others, but all of us fall pitifully short. There are people who have more love for God and neighbor than we. I admit that I do not love God or my neighbor as much as Paul Hill, James Kopp, or Shelly Shannon. I am also unwilling to suffer as they.

My inordinate respect for human life does not allow me to kill another human being. I agree with God’s law which gives at least 15 reasons why people should be put to death; but I could not personally carry it out. Even as a pagan, a Vietnam era soldier, the thought of killing another human being mortified me. But I recognize this as a personal failing on my part. I realize that many people besides me have this eccentricity. The difference between many of us is they believe this is NOT a short-coming. They believe that by allowing baby killers to live, they are being more loving and compassionate than God. They have their standard and God has HIS.

If abortion is murder, those who kill the unborn are murderers are they not? According to the Bible murderers, especially serial killers, are deserving of death (Genesis 9:5-6/ Numbers 35: 16 & 19 & 30; Leviticus 24: 17 -21; Acts 25:11; Matthew 15: 3-4; Mark 10: 9-10: Luke 19: 27; Heb. 10: 28; Ezekiel 13:19 Deut. 17: 5; 19: 11-15; 13:5-9; Romans 13:4; Exodus. 21: 12-16; Ex. 23:8; Deut. 22: 25 – 29; Deut. 24:16).

The babies define us. Anyone can say they are pro-life, but what do they really mean? It seems that many are pro-life except for the babies. These pro-lifers do not have to worry about me giving THEM a bad name.

I am not pro-life, I am anti-aborticide. I am not opposed to abortion so long as it does not kill. Abortions are rightfully performed to remove a dead baby from a womb.

I am not pro-life because I believe that the death penalty is good and just. It is a great evil to use the death penalty unjustly (1 Kings 21:1-2 Kings 9:25).

While in New Orleans I was holding a graphic picture of an abortion at an ACOG Convention, it was attended by some 2000 abortionists, a doctor snapped at me “Less than 20% of our doctors perform abortions!” I replied “Less than 1% of our people shoot abortion doctors!”

Like it or not, if you are anti-abortion, Scott Roeder is one of us. He does not deserve the cold shoulder from the pro-life community. If we truly love Christ and the babies we should also be speaking in defense of their defenders.
